God's Love Equals Judgement...But Never Unconditional Peace.

Nahum 1:2

God is jealous, and the Lord revenges; the LORD revenges, and is furious; the Lord will take vengeance on His adversaries, and He reserves wrath for His enemies.

As the popular hippy movement during Generation Baby Boomers liked to say, “All you need is love”; this is the same generation who began the love equals peace movement, which somehow spiraled into “everyone love everyone” and “God is love, so He will certainly love everyone no matter how they are or what they do...therefore, this same movement which indoctrinated the Millennial generation with their excessive “LOVE” ideology, shares responsibility for what I like to call the “cheap grace doctrine.”

Psalm 7:11

God judges the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

Let me begin by clearing up the “God is love” confusion. If you have followed my blog for any amount of time, you already know how I feel about the cheap grace excuse for a wild or promiscuous lifestyle without has never, and will never work with God. While there are many passages of Scripture which speak of a loving, merciful God, what needs to be understood is the true and whole meaning of not only a LOVING God, but also a jealous God, a Sovereign God, omnipotent, powerful, and...a God of judgement and justice!

Ephesians 4:14 no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by sleight of men and cunning craftiness whereby they lie in wait to deceive.

I recall a young man I knew well who was constantly getting caught up in the ideology that anyone who said to him, "Yes, I am a Christian," became somebody he automatically looked to for guidance. No testing of any spiritual fruits, no deep diving to find out what these men and women were really about; just automatic trust, believing if they said they knew Jesus as their Lord and Savior, he was safe to share every part of his own spiritual life with them, and even looking to them for guidance, even though much of what he was told not only conflicted with God's Word, but was disturbingly cross-indoctrination. In other words, this young man was being blown into a new doctrine any time he met someone he thought he could run to for spiritual guidance. He was simply too smothered within the confines of this "Love doctrine", constantly casting his pearls before swine, with the false belief that God will not judge the unrighteous in need of spiritual correcting.

Matthew 7:6

Give not that which is holy to the dogs, neither cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

The truth is, our loving and merciful God is loving; full of grace and patience towards His people. While we are instructed to love others the same way God shows love to us, this concept should never be utilized as an outlet of acceptance for unrighteous behavior; nor should we refrain from correcting a brother or sister in Christ who is faltering in their salvation.

Nahum 1:3

The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked...

While extending grace and gentleness to others, let us also remember to never accept God's love and mercy as meek, fragile, or powerless. If God's love equals justice and judgement on the wicked, then it cannot possibly equal universal peace until God fulfills His plan, and establishes His Kingdom on the earth. This, as we know from God's Word, will only come after unfathomable years of God's wrath and judgement on the wicked; this includes Satan's eternal destiny in hell, along with his followers who rejected Christ. Then, and only then, will God's people ever experience God's unconditional love and peace simultaneously.

Revelation 16:1

And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.
