If you, as a believer seek true revival among the Body of Christ and among the nation, then you seek the manifestations of the Holy Spirit; I am not talking about going to church and hoping to "feel" something, I am talking about the real, Acts 2 manifestation of the Holy Ghost. You cannot seek true revival without the work of the work of the Holy Spirit, and it baffles me to understand those who try.
I was recently in a minister’s meeting where the orchestrator absolutely refused to discuss the moving of the Holy Spirt within the church, but claims to want to “see revival” in the Church. I heard crying, lamenting, and passionate tones about how badly these two ministers desired to see the Lord working in our community and across nations. Basically, this pastor who orchestrated this particular meeting, desired prayer without truly seeking the will of God...so how does this work?
When I mentioned the real problem the church is facing is the ideology of “playing church”, which you know if you truly grew up in a Spirit-filled church), I received baffled looks from everyone in attendance, with the exception of one who seemed to agree.
To make matters even more frustrating, we began to intercede in prayer, while one woman began to mention how much she “missed God, and wanted to see Him in churches again!” (You cannot make this stuff up!) NOBODY ever “misses” God, because His Word promises that ANYONE truly seeking the Lord will find Him:
Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Let us be completely honest with ourselves; I am personally exhausted from the whining and lamenting by so many who claim they want to “see God in church again;” if you want to witness God moving the Church, it takes genuine repentance and time on your knees; it takes MUCH fasting and prayer. Allowing God to manifest His majesty and glory requires much on the part of the believer; like cultivating a relationship with anyone on earth, we cultivate a relationship with God the Father, Jesus His only Son, and the Holy Spirit.
1 Chronicles 16:11
Seek the LORD and His strength; seek His face continually.
If you refuse to put in the time it takes to develop this intimate relationship with the Lord, you do not seek revival, and you certainly do not “miss God”. If you “miss Him”, repent for time lost, turn back to the Lord, and pray for a true manifestation and revelation from the Holy Spirit. If you leave out any member of the Trinity, you only confuse yourself, ultimately believing lies like this one; that you are simply “missing God” wondering where He is, while in reality, He knows where YOU are, but He waits for you to call on His name.
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved.
